“With the support of my family, I have decided to rejoin the race for the RSC Chair that I began two years ago.
“The RSC, since its inception, has always attempted to be the right-of-center anchor of the House GOP conference. To that end, Chairman Flores’ efforts to begin to re-steer the RSC back toward its conservative roots need to continue under the leadership and experience of the next Chair.
WASHINGTON, DC: Congressman Andy Harris (MD-01) is pleased to announce that the U.S. Military Service Academies nomination applications are now available for those wishing to join the class of 2021. Congressman Harris will nominate some of the finest young men and women from the First Congressional District for appointments to the U.S. Military, Naval, Air Force, and Merchant Marine Academies. The Coast Guard Academy does not require a congressional nomination, though Congressman Harris will recommend interested applicants on a case-by-case basis.

Morgan Griffith (R-VA-09), and Sam Farr (D-CA-20) will be introducing the Medical Marijuana Research Act of 2016. This bill heeds the calls of the medical research community to address the burdensome processes that currently impede legitimate medical research on marijuana. This bill is a bipartisan and bicameral solution that removes barriers inhibiting medical marijuana research.

Amy’s water color painting, which is untitled, depicts a marsh scene on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for a year.
BEL AIR, MD: Congressman Andy Harris (MD-01) has announced that his district offices are hosting two Military Service Academy Resource Forums for students in Maryland's First District. The events will be held at Bel Air High School and North Dorchester High School in the month of May. All college-bound high school students and their parents with an interest in attending a service academy are strongly encouraged to attend.
WASHINGTON, DC: Congressman Andy Harris (MD-01) is pleased to announce that the 2016 Congressional Art Competition is now open for submissions. The competition, supported by the Congressional Institute, Southwest Airlines, and the House of Representatives, recognizes talented high school artists around the country. Winners from each congressional district will be eligible to attend the National Reception in Washington, D.C.
