WASHINGTON, DC: Rep. Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) announced the award of a $24,347 federal grant to the City of Salisbury. The grant was awarded by the U.S. Department of Justice and the funds will be dispersed through the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program.

The grant was awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation and will fund removal of tree obstructions to meet Federal Aviation Administration design standards.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) awarded $200,000 to Crisfield through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program. The funds will be used to enhance and support operations and safety.

The grant was awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation and will fund rehabilitation of the apron, taxiway and lighting. The airport supports more than 1600 local jobs.

WASHINGTON, DC: Rep. Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) announced the award of federal grants to volunteer firefighter departments on the Eastern Shore. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) awarded $169,809 to the Queenstown Volunteer Fire Company, $228,928 to the Denton Volunteer Fire Company, and $335,000 to the United Communities Volunteer Fire Department in Stevensville. The grant monies will be provided through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program and Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grants.
WASHINGTON, DC: Rep. Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) announced the award of a $64,655 grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation to Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury. The award is a discretionary grant through the Commercial Motor Vehicle Operator Safety Training Grant Program. The goals of the grant program include expanding the number of commercial driver license (CDL) holders possessing enhanced operator safety training and to assist veterans and their spouses to receive training to transition to the commercial motor vehicle industry.
