WASHINGTON, DC: Congressman Andy Harris, M.D., announced his annual military service academy information event for high school students interested in pursuing a Congressional nomination to attend one of the nation's military service academies. The virtual forum will be held on Tuesday, June 15th at 5:30PM, and will run approximately 90 minutes. Congressman Harris will kick off the meeting, followed by a very informative briefing by experts in the selection process and a first-hand look at academy life through the eyes of recent graduates.

WASHINGTON, DC: Congressman Andy Harris, M.D., announced that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), in consultation with the Department of Labor (DOL), will next week formally issued a rule to release 22,000 supplemental H-2B visas for the 2021 Fiscal Year. These visas will be available to employers starting on May 25th. The release of supplemental H-2B visas by DHS is pursuant to the Harris Amendment to the Fiscal Year 2021 Department of Homeland Security appropriations bill passed into law in December 2020.

WASHINGTON, DC: Congressman Andy Harris, M.D., announced today that pursuant to the Harris Amendment allowing the release of supplemental H-2B visas as adopted to the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021, which passed into law in December, the Department of Homeland Security has announced a supplemental allocation of 22,000 additional visas for the 2021 fiscal year.

WASHINGTON, DC: Congressman Andy Harris, M.D., and Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen (all Maryland) today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded a sizable $1,023,818 federal grant to the Salisbury – Ocean City – Wicomico Regional Airport. Funding for this grant came from the Coronavirus Relief and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act, which passed in December of 2020.

WASHINGTON, DC: Congressman Andy Harris, M.D., announced that Choptank Community Health in Denton has been selected by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to directly receive COVID-19 vaccine doses for distribution in the community. Choptank Community Health is one of 700 health centers nationwide that has been selected to administer these additional vaccines to underserved, rural, low-income, or minority patient populations.
