Each spring, the House of Representatives sponsors an art competition that recognizes the artistic talent of high school students in each congressional district throughout the country.
WASHINGTON, DC—Congressman Andy Harris, M.D. introduced The Small Business Deposit Relief Act of 2013 (H.R. 1184) that would protect small businesses and farm families from an arcane banking law, known as structuring, that punishes someone for making repeated cash deposits under $10,000. Many are already aware that depositing or withdrawing sums over $10,000 results in a Currency Transaction Report (CTR) being filed by a financial institution with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

House Republicans have acted twice to replace President Obama’s sequester, while the Senate and President Obama have done nothing.
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Andy Harris, M.D. voted for an extension of the pay freeze on all federal civilian employees when he voted for H.R. 273 today. The bill would continue to freeze pay adjustments through December 31, 2013. The freeze includes Members of Congress.

“Like so many of President Obama’s other lofty speeches, his words do not match his actions. Four straight trillion dollar deficits under the President’s watch clearly show we have a spending problem. Unfortunately, instead of focusing on getting Americans working again and reducing our deficit, President Obama focused on issues like gun control and climate change.
