WASHINGTON, DC: Rep. Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) announced the award of two federal grants for entrepreneurs on the Eastern Shore: A $40,530 grant to the Eastern Shore Entrepreneurship Center in Easton and a $96,039 grant to Maryland Capital Enterprises, Inc. in Salisbury. The grants were awarded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Office of Rural Development.

Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) announced the award of a $5,831,000 federal grant for the Twin Cities wastewater treatment plant, shared by the towns of Secretary and East New Market located in Dorchester County. The funds were awarded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Office of Rural Development. The grant will be accompanied by a loan of $1,149,000.

The contract will provide the Marine Corps with up to 982,749 Soft Armor Inserts. Work will be performed in Pocomoke City and is expected to be completed by 2024.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) awarded $200,000 to Crisfield through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program. The funds will be used to enhance and support operations and safety.
