Rep Harris Releases Statement on Plan to End the Special Treatment and Fund Government
Washington, D.C. – This evening the House plans to vote on ending the special treatment the President gave Congress on Obamacare, delaying the individual mandate in the same way the President delayed the employer mandate, and continuing government funding. Congressman Andy Harris, M.D., released the following statement on the planned action of the House to avert an ending of government funding:
In the event of a lapse in government funding:
In the event of a lapse of appropriated funds at midnight October 1, normal operations of the United States Government will be suspended until funding is restored. In that event, my offices will be closed and staff will be placed in a temporary, non-duty, non-pay status until such time as funding is restored. Staff will not be allowed to report to work, check emails or respond to your messages for the duration. This will likely result in a delay in responses to your inquiries.
