WORCESTER CO., Md. - Delmarva honored the fallen with dozens of ceremonies on Memorial Day from Dover to Exmore.

Hundreds gathered at the Worcester County Veterans Memorial Monday morning to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice with an emotional ceremony.

Mike Beatty, a speaker at the event said, "Today we are here at this beautiful Veterans Memorial to pay tribute to our fallen heroes and to recognize the men and women who gave all."

WASHINGTON, DC: On May 21, the U.S. House of Representatives passed several VA reform bills, including but not limited to: H.R. 4451, the Homeless Veterans' Reintegration Programs Reauthorization Act; H.R. 4958, the Veterans Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act; and H.R. 3832, the Veterans Opioid Abuse Prevention Act. The VA MISSION Act institutes critical reforms to the VA's health care system and funds the VA Choice Program. HURLOCK — Veterans Day was recognized at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock on Saturday, Nov. 11, with U.S. Rep. Andy Harris, R-Md.-1st, as the guest speaker.

The poignant ceremony paid tribute to the dedication and sacrifice of those who have served in the United States Armed Forces, many of whom paid the ultimate sacrifice.

GRASONVILLE — Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 7464 hosted the unveiling of an Eagle Scout Project designed and orchestrated by Troop 765 Life Scout Jacob McLaughlin, 17, of Queenstown on Saturday, Sept. 23.. Boy Scout Troop 765 is sponsored by Safe Harbor Presbyterian Church in Stevensville.

PSA for all MD-01 residents utilizing or applying for VA benefits:

As of September 27, 2017, the Department of Veterans Affairs will no longer operate the VONAPP website. Going forward, service members and their family members will make all online submissions through VA's Vets.Gov and eBenefits websites. Many applications for benefits will still be able to be filed in person, through VSOs, and by mail.
