General Questions
I have submitted my request for a tour with Congressman Harris. What are the next steps?
Once your request is processed, you will receive an email acknowledging receipt of your tour request – generally in a matter of days. If you are intending to visit either the US Capitol, the White House or the FBI Experience tour, please stand by for additional email instructions from our Office.
It has been a couple of days/weeks/months since I have submitted my request. Did you forget about me?
Congressman Harris is committed to ensuring that our Office is able to accommodate tour requests from the constituents of Maryland’s First Congressional District. If we are able to secure your tour, you will receive additional instructions by email from our Office. (Keep reading below for additional information on specific tour requests.)
Generally, if your tour is confirmed you should hear back from us no later than one (1) week prior to your requested tour date. Due to capacity reasons, if you do not hear back from us at all following the first email, you can safely assume that your requested date was unavailable.
I still want to check in on the status of my tour request or have additional questions. How can I reach out to you?

White House
What is the relationship between the Office of Congressman Andy Harris and the White House Visitors Office?
The Office of Congressman Andy Harris facilitates requesting appointments only. We are unable to assist you with further scheduling and accommodation. Our office does not confirm/deny appointments. Any questions related to final confirmation or denial of your requested appointment should be directed to the White House Visitors Office. You may contact the WH Visitors Office at 202-456-1414 or email VisitorsOffice@who.eop.gov.
When can I visit the White House?
Public tours are typically available Tuesday through Thursday, 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM ET, and Friday through Saturday, 7:30 AM - 1:30 PM ET. Please keep in mind that tours are subject to change and may be cancelled without any reason. Tour schedules may change at any time, with little notice, due to inclement weather or scheduling conflicts, even after your tour is confirmed.
What are the best practices to successfully secure a tour appointment?
The White House tours can be extremely difficult to secure. As the most visited building in the United States and the official workplace and residence of the President, its scheduling is always subject to change and cancellation. White House tours can be confirmed up to 90 days in advance, and up to 7 days out from your tour intended date. However, our Office strongly recommends submitting your request with us approximately three (3) months before your intended visit. To increase your chances, it is suggested that you select three (3) preferred dates and times (7:30 am – 1:30 pm) in the same 2-week period.
I have submitted my request. What are the next steps?
Congressman Harris is committed to ensuring that as many constituents of Maryland’s First Congressional District as possible are accommodated and can visit the White House. If our Office can request an appointment on your behalf, you will receive an additional email from the White House asking you to RSVP your attendance within 72 hours. To complete your reservation, you will need to provide information about each guest within the next 72 hours. Your tour is not confirmed until RSVP information has been submitted.
What information is required for the RSVP process?
All guests must provide the following details exactly as they appear on their government-issued ID:
- Legal first, middle, and full last name as listed exactly on the form of identification
- Date of birth
- Place of residency
- Identification number (Social Security Number for U.S. citizens, Passport Number for all non-U.S. citizens regardless of age)
- Those guests 17 and under do not need to enter their Social Security Number
- U.S. Citizens 17 and under do not need a form of identification
Can I edit my RSVP details after submitting?
No, once submitted, security information cannot be changed. If there is an error, please contact the Visitors Office via email. Please note that the Visitors Office can not see the security information of guests. If a guest makes an RSVP mistake, they will need to be removed and re-registered.
What happens if a guest does not RSVP in time?
The RSVP deadline is 72 hours after the reservation is made. If a guest does not RSVP within this timeframe, the tour slots will be canceled and you will need to submit a new request via our website.
Tour Modifications & Cancellations:
Can I change the date or time of my tour after booking?
No, tour dates and times cannot be modified. If you need a different date or time, you must cancel the existing reservation and book a new one.
Can I add or remove guests after booking?
If the RSVP deadline has not passed, you may remove guests, but new guests cannot be added. If more guests need to be added, a new reservation must be made.
