Rep. Harris Announces Bus and Bus Facilities Grants to Carroll and Harford Counties
WASHINGTON, DC: Rep. Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) announced the award of two federal grants from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to the Maryland Department of Transportation on behalf of the Carroll County Commissioners ($118,174) and Harford County Government ($3,437,370). Funds were awarded through the DOT Grants for Buses and Bus Facilities Program, which makes federal resources available to states and direct recipients to replace, rehabilitate and purchase buses and related equipment and to construct bus-related facilities.
Congressman Harris made the following statement:
"As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, I applaud the award of these funds to our local counties. These grant dollars will allow the local governments to further their efforts in improving transportation and transportation infrastructure in the community, which will in turn lead to more job growth. I remain committed to ensuring that our local governments are able to obtain the resources they need to develop and thrive, especially during the challenging times we face right now."
