Harris Issues Statement on Defunding the Police Bill

WASHINGTON, DC: Rep. Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) issued the following statement after voting against H.R. 1280, the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act of 2021:

"A ‘Defund the Police' bill is the last thing we should do while we have record murder rates in Baltimore City, increasing violent crime throughout the nation, and record low morale among our men and women who make up the thin blue line. Congress should know better how to protect Americans from rampant violence they witness every day."
