June 2, 2020

WASHINGTON, DC: Rep. Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) announced the award of a $40,000 federal grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation to Bayside Community Network, Inc. in Elkton. Specifically, this grant funding came from the Mobility for All Pilot Program, which seeks to improve mobility options through employing innovative coordination of transportation strategies and building partnerships to enhance mobility and access to vital community services for older adults, individuals with disabilities, and people of low income.

Bayside Community Network strives to help persons with disabilities, mainly developmental impairments, to learn to live their lives as normally and independently as their capabilities will allow.

Congressman Harris made the following statement:

"As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, I applaud the award of these funds to Bayside Community Network. These grant dollars will allow this non-profit to further their mission of service to others in our community, and I remain committed to ensuring that organizations like this receive the help they need to continue their tireless work."
