Congressman Harris Calls For Resignation Of US Secret Service Director Following Deadly Lapse of Security at Trump Rally
Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) a member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security, called for the resignation of US Secret Service Director, Kimberly Cheatle, following her acknowledgement in an ABC interview that "the Secret Service is responsible for the protection of the former President" and "the buck stops with me."
Background: The House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security is responsible for annually funding the operations of the US Secret Service.

“As a member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security, I am calling for the resignation of USSS Director, Kimberly Cheatle, following her admission that “the buck stops with me” in relation to her department’s failure to protect President Trump from an assassination attempt. Any department head that acknowledges this level of failure should not be trusted with the safety and security of any official, let alone President Trump, going forward.”
