Congressman Andy Harris Visits US Southern Border With Speaker Johnson And House Republican Colleagues

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) issued the following statement today while visiting the U.S. Southern Border in Eagle Pass, TX. along with House Speaker, Mike Johnson and nearly 60 other House Republican colleagues.

This Southern Border visit comes as U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is experiencing record migrant border crossings. According to Department of Homeland Security officials, CBP encountered nearly 300,000 migrants at the Southern Border in December, a record high. Last month, CBP also saw the highest daily crossings on record at the Southern Border, at times exceeding 12,000 per day.

Congressman Harris issued the following statement:

“The federal government under the Biden administration is a complete and dangerous failure at the Southern Border. After being briefed by the Border Patrol today at Eagle Pass, it is clear to me that this Administration has allowed dangerous terrorists to enter this country easily through their wide-open Southern Border policy.”
