WASHINGTON, DC: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is starting work on two projects that will benefit residents of Smith Island in Somerset County, Maryland. The projects entail the construction of two jetties to improve navigation at Rhodes Point and dredging the Big Thorofare and Twitch Cove federal channels.

WASHINGTON, DC: On December 6, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 38, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act. The legislation allows concealed carry permit holders to carry a concealed handgun into or possess a concealed handgun in another state that allows concealed carry.

Mr. Azar is a native of Maryland’s Eastern Shore and served as General Counsel and Deputy Secretary for HHS under President George W. Bush. WASHINGTON, DC: On November 8, the United States Department of Agriculture announced its approval of $4.2 million in loans and $2.4 million in grants for the replacement and relocation of Port Deposit’s existing wastewater treatment plant. Additional funding will be provided by the Maryland Department of the Environment.
