Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representatives Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01), Dave Joyce (OH-14), and Marcy Kaptur (OH-9), Co-Chairs of the House Hungarian Caucus, released the following statement following the Parliamentary elections in Hungary on April 6, 2014:

On the House floor, Rep. Harris spoke about the situation in the Ukraine--the country where his mother grew up--and voiced his support for H.R. 4152, a bill that would provide for the costs of loan guarantees for the Ukraine. The bill was introduced by Rep. Hal Rogers, Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Andy Harris, M.D. releases the following statement on the authorization to use military force being considered by Congress against Syria:

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Andy Harris, M.D. voted to cut the State Department foreign aid budget by $8 billion, a decrease of 19% from current levels, bringing the expenditures down to 2008 levels before President Obama was elected. The savings would be achieved through legislation that funds the State Department and was considered today by the Committee on Appropriations. As a member of the Committee, Congressman Harris voted in favor of the bill and the proposed reduction in foreign aid.
